The only place to buy music in Delaware

Wilmington's a small town, and if you like good music chances are you already know about Bert's. But if you don't, please, my friend, step away from the Best Buy and come on down to a one-of-a-kind store, the likes of which are fast vanishing from the American landscape. Not only is Bert's literally the only game in town for an eclectic selection of jazz, rock, soul, psychedelic, reggae-- the hippest of the new and the most legendary of the old, including rare and hard to find recordings-- but the prices are good, too. Bert himself is a friendly and knowledgeable guy, happy to provide recommendations and, if you've got the time, conversation. Certainly, this presents the modern American with a bit of culture shock-- you'll have a much different experience buying that Ornette Coleman disc from Bert than from the local Walmart. But when I go to Bert's, no more than a few times a year when I'm home in Wilmington, I'm going to visit an old friend. I'm not just going for an anonymous transaction. In fact, I go to Bert's specifically to get his recommendations on new music. If this doesn't sound appealing to you, and you'd prefer a smock and a nametag, then by all means, keep driving down 202. But for a personal, friendly experience, good prices and bar none the best selection in the area, I emplore you, go to Bert's Compact Discs.
